Steel Platform
Also known as a steel structure platform, it is an independent, multi-layer heavy-duty storage structure, distinct from mezzanine racking. It has a stronger load-bearing capacity, with a single layer capable of supporting up to 10 tons. Dimensions can be customized to fit the warehouse space, and the construction period is shorter.
Function
It is used to solve the problem of centralized storage of heavy and large goods, and can also be used to build a spatial layout of upper storage and lower operation, or for equipment placement and temporary storage of goods.
Advantages
Excellent load-bearing capacity, suitable for storing heavy goods;
Strong independence, not dependent on the original warehouse structure, widely adaptable to different types of goods, and allows for the planning of layered storage and operational spaces to optimize warehouse layout.

Application Industries And Scope
Due to its simple structure, strong versatility, easy assembly, and low implementation cost, warehouse pallet shelves are the most commonly used storage system. They are particularly suitable for the following situations:

FAQs
Are there mandatory standards for the height of guardrails on steel platforms? How can operational safety be ensured?
There are mandatory standards. According to the "Safety Specifications for Warehouse Racking," the height of the edge guardrails on steel platforms must be ≥1.2m, with a 0.6m high protective crossbar in the middle, and the spacing between guardrails ≤110mm, to prevent people or goods from falling. Additional safety measures include: edge guards (≥100mm high) on platform edges, anti-slip treads on stairs, and load-bearing markings and crash barriers in areas with heavy equipment.
Can the steel platform be designed to be detachable? What if expansion is needed later?
It can be designed to be detachable, using bolt connections instead of welding, allowing for disassembly and reassembly during relocation or expansion. Expansion methods are flexible: one is to extend the existing platform to both sides; another is to increase the number of floors (it needs to be confirmed whether the warehouse floor height meets the standards); and the third is to build a new independent platform and connect it with a corridor. The expansion cost is only 60%-70% of that of building a new platform.
Does the steel platform's ground need reinforcement? Is the reinforcement cost high?
The reinforcement method needs to be determined based on the original load-bearing capacity of the ground: if the ground compressive strength is ≥C30 and the weight of the stored goods per square meter is ≤3 tons, no reinforcement is required; if the ground strength is insufficient or heavy equipment (such as machine tools) is stored, reinforcement is required. Common methods include pouring a 100-150mm thick concrete pad or laying a 20mm thick steel plate. The reinforcement cost is about 80-150 yuan/㎡, which is relatively low.
What is the typical construction period for a steel platform? Will it affect the normal operation of the warehouse?
The construction period depends on the area and number of floors. For a two-story steel platform of 100-300㎡, the construction period is approximately 20-30 days (including design, production, and installation); for a large steel platform of 300-3000㎡, it is approximately 30-60 days. A "phased construction" model can be adopted, where one half of the area is constructed first without affecting the normal operation of the other half, and the entire area is inspected and handed over upon completion.
What are the key differences between steel platforms and mezzanine racking? How should you choose between them?
The core difference lies in load-bearing capacity and application: steel platforms can bear a single-layer load of 1-5 tons/㎡, suitable for heavy goods storage, equipment placement, or upper-level storage for lower-level operations; mezzanine racks can bear 200-500kg/㎡, suitable for layered storage of light and small-sized goods. Selection principle: Choose steel platforms for storing heavy/large goods, and choose mezzanine racks for storing light/various small items.
