Maintenance costs are moderate, lower than automated racking systems. Key maintenance areas include: checking the verticality of the uprights (to prevent ground subsidence from forklift collisions), ensuring the beam clips are secure, and repairing any wear and tear on the forklift aisle floor. A comprehensive inspection is recommended every six months!

After installing narrow aisle racking, how should the warehouse's fire exits and lighting be planned?

At least one main fire lane with a width of ≥1.8m must be reserved, and a transverse fire lane must be set up every 30m; lighting must be high-position explosion-proof lights installed above the shelving aisles to avoid the shelving blocking the light, and smoke detectors and sprinkler systems must be provided, with sprinkler heads avoiding the shelving uprights.

Standard maximum heights can reach 12-15m, with some customized models reaching 18m. The warehouse clear height must be ≥ rack height + 1.2m (to allow for forklift lifting space and installation height for lighting and fire-fighting equipment). For example, for a 12m high narrow aisle rack, the warehouse clear height must be ≥13.2m, and the floor level and load-bearing capacity must be guaranteed.

What is the minimum aisle width that can be achieved for narrow aisle racking? What type of forklift is required?

The minimum aisle width can be compressed to 1.6-2.0m, requiring the use of specialized narrow aisle forklifts (such as three-way stacker cranes).
